Ultra Maritime Family of Sonobuoys
Our comprehensive family of sonobuoys provides the full breadth of all detection, tracking, and identification mission requirements.
Bathythermal
Available in both A-size and G-size form factors, Bathythermal Sonobuoys provide vertical temperature profiles of the ocean environment for Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and research missions. These are widely used for airborne ASW missions to evaluate local effects of ocean temperatures and complex layers on sonar propagation throughout the water column and acoustic range prediction systems. Directional Command Active
Available in A-size only, Directional Command Active Sonobuoy Systems (DICASS) are used for detecting and localizing submarines in preparation for attack. DICASS sonobuoys can be used in conjunction with DIFAR sonobuoys to actively ping for targets within the water to obtain a final firing solution. View All DICASS
Passive Directional
Available in both A-size and G-size form factors, the Passive Directional Frequency Analysis and Recording Sonobuoys (DIFAR) combine passive directional and calibrated wide-band omni capability into a single multi-functional unit. These DIFAR sonobuoys have optional GPS capability, and can be used with an array of active sonobuoys. View All DIFAR
Multistatic
Available in both A-size and G-size form factors, Multistatic Sonobuoys are available as source or receive functionality. A multistatic sonar system contains several spatially diverse monostatic or bistatic sonar components with a shared area of coverage. This enables ASW operators to use sensor fusion to combine the power of separate sonobuoys to find a target. View All
