Radars
The Sea Raider family
Sea Raider is the next-generation family of maritime radars built to deliver domain awareness and mission agility across manned and unmanned operations. Designed to detect low-signature threats in complex environments and evolve through software-defined upgrades, and with a plan to be fielded on every ship in the U.S. surface fleet, the Sea Raider family enables distributed forces to operate safely and cohesively in contested seas.
Seeing the Unseen
The Sea Raider family is engineered with enhanced sensitivity and advanced clutter suppression to reveal danger among the waves, safeguarding ships and the sailors who operate them. In contested environments, it detects low-signature, concealed threats hidden in sea and coastal clutter—from small commercial drones to exposed submarine periscopes and low-profile craft.
One Radar, All Platforms, All Missions
Sea Raider family of radars’ software-defined architecture enables rapid deployment of new missions through software-only upgrades, eliminating the need for hardware modifications or platform downtime. New waveforms, processing modes and other capabilities can be added or updated quickly, allowing the radar to adapt to evolving threats and operational requirements while reducing lifecycle cost, training and integration risk.
Shepherd of The UnManned Flock
Sea Raider’s scalability makes it the squadron’s primary sensing and coordination asset on unmanned surface ships, delivering continuous situational awareness across broad maritime areas. Acting as the shepherd of the flock, it integrates target detection and surface tracking into a unified operational picture that guides distributed vessels. By creating a single operating picture, it enables coordinated maneuvering, collision avoidance and early threat detection, allowing unmanned ships to operate as one, even in contested or low-visibility environments.
